April Showers!
Did you take a shower or bath today? Of course you did; well at least we all hope. Oil of Olay Shower Gel, followed by clean, downy fresh clothes and shampooed bouncy hair with a splash of perfume or cologne! We make a daily effort to ensure that we are beautified and looking great and smelling great, but then wonder why we fall into sexual traps. As soon as the sexual trap comes, we attempt to run for aid hoping that a quick remedy will stop us from falling through on our body’s plan to have illegal sex. But throwing a teaspoon of water on a flaming body is not going to put any blazing flame out.
Some of the fire rescue efforts that I’ve seen many Christians attempt to cool off sexual longing are merely temporary mirages that appear as sexual wholeness. But all too soon they’re back in the sheets again; because after you try to cool off a sexual longing with a cold shower you’ll find that the fire has been rekindle by a sexual longing that never went away. Because cold showers DON’T Work! No outside efforts, religious activities, or the do’s and don’ts of Christianity will stop you from living in sexual impurity. Sexual integrity is a matter of the heart. The only vaccination for sexual sin is to shower your heart and clean it from impurities. Just as you clean your body, comb your hair brush your teeth, and do the daily maintenance of your body, the same is the case with your heart. If you are going to REIGN over your sexual battles, you will have to make a daily commitment to shower your heart with the Word of God.
