This goes along with my "praise post" but I have experienced prophetic worship arise in me in the form of prophetic song. This truly exemplifies the "new song" that the bible admonishes us to have in our mouths. There have been times as I pray and God will give me verses spontaneously along with the melody and sound, that I never learned anywhere else. I believe prophetic worship is the Holy Spirit prompting our spirits in understanding God's heart and mind as it relates to our communion with him. I like what the Prophet's Dictionary (Dr. Paula Price) says concerning prophetic song:
Prophecy delivered in melodious, lyrical forms where the prophet sings and/or rhymes the word of the Lord. This method of prophetic delivery is particularly suited to the critically wounded or defeated in spirit. The soothing sound of the word of the Lord musically declared has the twofold effect of healing and encouraging at the same time. People who have been crushed in spirit due to repeated setbacks or rejection respond well to prophetic song.
This is a much needed paradigm of musical ministry that churches need in the choirs and praise & worship teams, etc. God's people are to be a prophetic people (meaning we know how to understand God's heart and mind as the Spirit searches within God and reveals to us.) We just must be in a position to receive. Prophetic sound, in a musical form, is a blessing and those words that God give you really never leaves you. It becomes, as the Psalmist said, that song of deliverance in a "dark" season as well as in times of rejoicing and spiritual warfare. Come to think of it, prophetic song is often preparing the way for the prophetic to manifest in other depths and ways within a setting.
Beulah, if you're looking for a prophetic worship CD, I recommend Shekinah Glory's latest one that came out this year. There are many cuts on their specifically identified as "prophetic song."

Amos 9:11-12 (Emphasis Mine)
"In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this."

Thank you anointed and keita for sharing that. Anointed i will definitely check out that cd. Most of my music is prophetic and i sing that way myself in the shower most days A definite album is Cloud By Day & Fire By Night by Joan McFatter and anything by Mike Bickle and the IHOP team is a must for my collection. Keita would u care to expound on the tabernacle of David?

This word came up in my spirit as I was listening to Micah Stampley's "I believe." Many times when prophetic worship is offered to God, the word of the Lord emerges in the midst to encourage, strengthen and inspire the people of God. So here it goes:
Tell the Lord "I believe" when you worship and praise him in this season. As you declare this in the atmosphere, God will be liberated to work in your life in a greater level. He will manifest His power and grace on your behalf with a greater intensity. He will cause you to see that what you're believing Him to do isn't wishful thinking but it's a reality awaiting not fulfillment but manifestation in the earth. Your worship isn't just what you offer up but it's what you seal in the atmosphere. It's what you declare to the seen and unseen worlds about your God. Seal it in the atmosphere that you will believe God no matter what. God never forgets a praise or act of worship. So let "I believe" be your worship and praise this day. Receive the word of the Lord.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. -Mark 11:24
And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. -Matthew 13:58
