"Like an eagle arousing its nest hovering over its young; he spreads his wings, he takes it, he carries it on his wings." (Deuteronomy 32:11) What is it about eagles that they carry their young on their wings? Other birds carry their young from place to place in their talons because they fear the eagle which soars over them, but the eagle fears nothing but the arrow, so it carries its young on its wing to protect them from attack from below. But how do the young get on the back of the eagle? Other birds are picked up by the talons in which they are held during flight...but what about the eaglets? To be assured of the safe journey provided by the powerful parent, they have to jump on.
They have to make the move that puts them into the position of safety.
So, too, we have to "jump on", making the commitment to cling to our Father and His Word while He shields us from danger." Can we do that or do we just "chicken out"?

is that not the reason why God compares himself with the eagle...the bird that goes against storms, the bird that tests it's mate to max, the bird whose eyesite is over`a mile in excelence, a bird who covers its young one in times of trouble...
"As an eagle spread its wings over it's loved ons so shall the Lord spread his wings over you in time so trouble!"

is that not the reason why God compares himself with the eagle... Amen! And not Himself only, but "they that wait" as well! " But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles;" Isaiah 40:31 I'm fascinated by the way that God's creations so often and so clearly bear witness to Him and His Word. I've really learned to appreciate the value of (and highly recommend) accompanying and deepening the study of scripture with further studying the nature references. God's creation preaches in some amazing ways! "Eagles vs chickens" (and some other "bible birds" besides) is a good example of that.
