As a Christian what does the passover mean to you?

The Passover Feast was a foreshadowing of Christ's death on the cross and since the atoning work has been fulfilled, we're no longer bound to observe the Passover feast like the OT Jews were.
But I also say if you leads one to a better understanding of and a greater appreciation for Christ's death and resurrection, then why not celebrate it?

Passove is done to always remember. I think its a good idea to do it so that we never loose site of reason and the signifigance of passover. Has anyone ever been to a Seder? My fiancee's church had one last Weekend to help Chrisitans understand the importance of it and Passover. It was really exciting and very informative. I think its something that all need to experience. Through it we can understand the magnitude of the sacrifice that Jesus made. Its a long service. It started at 10 am and ended at 4. But well worth it.

Question... Did the Early Christians celebrate the resurrection of our lord on the passover annually, or did they do it with communion? If not when did Christians start the annual "christian Resurrection" passover?

Good question, Beck.
Honestly, I celebrate Passover more than once per year. For awhile I was led to take communion everyday and I did so until I felt released from it. It was an awesome time of fellowship with the Lord.
Now, I celebrate through communion whenever my church does so and I continue to do so at home as I feel led to. I now always keep communion supplies in my home.

ASWSOY, as a child there was a time that my mom was lead to have communion everyday or every other day as well. She taught us on the scripture that says "in as much as you do this in remembrance of me" or something like that (don't have my bible with me), but my mom did not believe in the once a month communion...... When I became a teen she was released from it and communion was no longer done at home or at least as a family....... WOW I thought that was only something that she did, and just to think that was years ago and you've never met my mom......... God is just awesome like that!!!!! |
