What's the difference between "tellin' all your bizness" and "giving your testimony"?
When I told my testimony to an uncle, he ran and called my mother on the phone and told her what I had said. Then, she called me saying "Why you put all your business out there?"
Truth is, I felt no shame in my game and the point of telling it is to magnify His name, not mine. For me, that's the difference. What about you?

What about you? I was at a conference long ago and a Mother reprimanded Juanita Bynum (after No More Sheets) and said that NO One needs to get up speaking, telling ALL their business: Well at that time, it really bothered me because I knew that one day I was going to have to get up and give God glory for the things he has brought me through. I was a church girl raised in a prominent COGIC family and was living foul, but no one knew........and I knew in my spirit that one day I was going to have to tell it............ Well, I say that to say this: It is only people who don't want to deal with the reality of situations (people) that feel one must cover up and not say certain things publicly. But just think if Bynum never would have preached No More Sheets and been honest about her life; how many young girls we would have in the church acting Saved and doing whatever living miserable lives. I say give your testimony, because for everyone 1 person you offend you have helped a 100 more!!!!!!!

and I will continue to give my testimony! As I said on the other thread - when people get offended by what I USED TO DO, it is only because I represent the very thing they would like to become: FORGIVEN AND SET FREE!

I think if you are doing it to glorify God then God will vindicate you to all others who feel like you dont need to be sharing stuff like that.
And to be honest there are a lot more ppl in the world, that can appreciate one being honest and sharing where God bought them from because it can identify with how they might be living at the present moment. On the other hand, some ppl cant appreciate church folk actin like they have never did anything in the world and that they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth and that they have done no wrong.
People are looking for real ppl. Now if you fit in that category of having done nothing wrong , or havent experienced the world, then God Bless and God will send someone to you, for you to help in that arena. But for the most people are wondering can God deliver them with all the hell they have been through. And when Saints step up and tell the story for the goodness of God then that speaks hope to their lives.
So Saints tell the Story !!! Let's help a dying world.

Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

I dont see anything wrong with wanting to share ur testimony or even putting all one's business out there.
What i have a problem with is people assuming that everyone and anything wants to hear it. I am tired of just meeting people and after 2 minutes they want to tell me their life stories-i frankly dont care.
In addition it can get quiet weary during testimony service when one person hogs the mic for an hour and there is a line behind them and then just as u think they are going to zip it then they break out in song followed by tears.
In other words there are times and places for everything. One shouldnt accost people and inflict ur testimony on them-find out if they actually care to hear it in the first place.
And how is ur week going?

What about you? The different is the Anointing that in your testimony, that destroy YOKES..... It not for family members that want to keep everything under the rug.... It for those who need deliverance in the area, God delivered you or they may need it in the future. The Holy Spirit is the one who lead a person to give their testimonies and He is the one Who will anoint it. AT

I will honestly say that I don't have casual conversations telling folks all my business, however when I am led by the Spirit of God, whether in speaking, witnessing, and having a deep conversation with some one and the atmosphere shift, then I will share my testimony of how God delivered me from the things i used to do.
I think in all things people need to know that we are not perfect, we have messed up, but it is GOD who delivered. You don't have to tell who, how, when, how many times, and with who's you wasn't supposed to be with...etc..etc..

I believe in sharing the word first followed by testimony. The word is the only thing that saves and can penetrate man, testimonies on their own tend to excite their emotions. I remember when i used to head up an evangelism team and everyone just used to go out witnessing on their testimony and nothing was happening. I then changed it to share the gospel and what Christ came to do and after then add ur testimony if needs be and bingo.
We do well to remember that in all things HIS testimony comes first.
