They may be establishing their own truth and call it God.... since we are in so much bondage of "Doctrine of Man"....

We been taught wrong about everything, about heaven and hell, sinner's prayer, about the way the church is set up, about Lucifer, about Pastors, about prophecies, about communion, about baptisms, about women in ministry, tithing & offering, elective vs freewill, on and on..... The leaders today must be a bunch of losers, getting everything mixed up and messed up, we so smart, that we can do such a better job.

Let just throw everything away and dig up some stuff and call it God's.

LOL. I feel where you are coming from AT. I'll just put it like this: I think that through the years, the church's perspective has gotten skewed. Many times there is nothing wrong with certain practices per se in the church, but the FOCUS and PURPOSE have gotten all messed up. We've got to desire the fullness of truth in our inward parts.

KB, I agree with you said about focus and purpose.
Through it all, and even though it might not be trendy - so to speak - it is important to go back to basics, isn't it? And just keep it simple, because when it's all said and done, that's what Jesus said, so simple that a child can understand it.... That's what truth is to me.
There is one thing that I wanted to say, since this about touching bases: as much as we may be aware of some "issues", personally, having lived long enough in other places aside from the US, I do believe that, as it is, it is a great blessing to have so many opportunities and places available where the word of God is spoken.
Maybe it's a case of too much, too many, not perfect, etc... But, the bottom line is that it is such a blessing and it has to be appreciated, as a precious gift. I think that for that too, it is true that we don't know what we have until we lose it.
What, who, carries us through, over, out of, into, is ultimately simple: I know in whom I have believed... Holding on to our confession with fear and trembling... Exalting Him above all... God is faithful and he expects us to be too.

When I say truth, I mean truth from the Word of God and not just people's opinions and "special revelations" or telling people what you think of them and what is in their hearts. I knew that it was going to get quiet around here after a particular post but I pray that it is a "holy hush". ....

I see us saying a lot. " The Church " but then I am always reminded that WE are the church. We seem to oftentimes come from the direction that its THEM not us. THEY are doing wrong. THEY dont have it all together when in reality as the old song says. Its ME, Its ME, Its ME O Lord standing in the need of prayer.

I agree with so much that has been said. I have found that we don't know what is truth, because we don't KNOW truth. If we ask ourselves Who is truth? Who is the word of God? Then it all comes back to JESUS. He is truth, He is the living word of God.

I use "we" to describe the body of Christ because "we" are all one. When something is lacking, "we" all suffer.

I just find it so crafty and cunning that one can believe that EVERY believer has been taught wrong, or that EVERY believer foundation is built on sinking sand. Please read this carefully: MY FOUNDATION IS BUILT ON JESUS CHRIST. and whether we agree with one's theories, "new revelations" specials revelations...oh wait..lets kill those birds with one stone:

Aint nothing new under the sun. I find that with alot of posts, somethings that are "declared" new revelations that God have given to us, can be found on someone else internet page..but yet its proclaimed to have been received, while in "personal time" with God. "wateva"


I can't say that I was completely astonished by the last post, I have heard worse. I was somewhat saddened that we spend so much time trying to teardown basic fundamentals, all in the name of "board discussions", or trying to prove that what you believe is actually acurate and never mind the THOUSANDS of Saints that are going on in the name of Jesus.

I pray that we won't miss the mark, trying to achieve some name for ourselves because of our self proclaimed knowledge. I pray that we won't miss out on knowing, fulling and experiencing GOD because we are so confused about basic things that even a CHILD can understand.

If we actually believe that hell is for purification purposes only, and that when these individuals are "purified" they will be placed in God's presence to enjoy the fruits of their sinful labor..my God help us today.

What's the purpose of living Holy.. Hey, lets all ride into hell with gasoline strapped to our tails. Nevermind the bible declaring, exhorting, SINNERS TURN from your wicked ways.

Im worried about the body. Im worried that we have become so consumed with trying to proove that which is Unnecessary.

There is a difference between of being "critical of a thing" and to be "burden with a thing", I see Jas you are deeply burden and it runs very deep with you. People like you will make a difference for the good.
