Lately I have encountering somethings that really disturb me. Within there is peace and an reassurance of rest in the Lord as I trust in him. Yet, what I find disturbing is that there are many who say they are " Christians"; yet, they have no sustainance in the Word. In many lives prayer has become " agree with me in prayer; but, don't pray that I change; prophecy has become the measuring stick of one's live (unfulfilled or fulfilled); " I need a word from the Lord; and it has to edify, exhort, and encourage me and tell how greatly I am going to be used by God and don't tell me I have to go through some tests and trials on the way; surround me with preachers who will be loving, gentle, and dripping with sweetness..but, don't send me one who will tell me I am messed up and my life does not reflect Christ. Prophesy to me how God is going to bless me; but, please don't tell me that there are conditions to those promises; give me a word from the Lord and I'll gladly receive it; but, don't tell me to test those prophesies because I just know it's true and that's my 20th confirmation, and "I know who I am" and you can't tell me otherwise; just let tell you again, to show you how confident I am of that; but, please don't tell me you recognize that I have a spirit of fear and that I really don't believe what I just said to you. I drove home from wondering what is really happening so many who become Christians. It seems that the Word of God has taken no effect in their lives; because many are not teaching Christ and him crucified..not teaching that wages of sin is death..not teaching that you must repent.."this feel good - tell me I good - and I am going to heaven" really makes you think..

I can agree that the preaching of the gospel has become a lil watered down in some places. That ole skool teachin had you checkin yaself on a daily basis to see if you were right!!! We just need a proper balance in our lives thats all. And we need to maintain constant fellowship with God, so that we can line ourselves up to his word and his way, and see how far we have fallen so that we can get back up and get going continuing to press towards the mark.

" I need a word from the Lord; and it has to edify, exhort, and encourage me and tell how greatly I am going to be used by God and don't tell me I have to go through some tests and trials on the way; " (not trying to take this out of context...)
Maybe it's a case of "tickle, tickle, little star..." We know who we are, Jesus said so. Between here and there, and through all of it - because it happens - the good, the bad and the ugly, it's God's way, all the way, God's will, every day, for all of us, for His purpose, His glory. Real humility is a virtue, to me the cross speaks it forever... So, for all the little words like through, above, beyond, whatever, it's really about our staying power, and He gives us that, not man. When we repeat something only because it sounds good and feels good, then we start living it, sometimes to our own detriment, and the truth of God's word is proven even through that. The door is narrow.

Each perspn is responsible for their own salvation and their own walk with the Lord. I asked the Lord years ago what was wrong with the church and He gave me a simple answer.
He said this was the problem with the church.
You dont know your God You dont know your Word and By and Large you dont have the baptism of the Holy Spirit nor are you led and controlled by Him.
He said every issue we have will trace itself back to one of these three things.
We have to make the individual commitment to walk with the Lord and to get to know Him.
Remember the temple pattern. There is an outer court, inner court, holy place and Holy of Holies. Most of us are outer court folks. This is where we spend the majority of our lives and our walk with God and because God is merciful and meets us in the outer court we think we have entered in and really we have not.

Jasmine..please say word...even if you have to sing it !!
GDD...is there more to what you have posted ?
So much of what we say and teach is from what others have obtained rather from the voice of God..I agree that we must press toward the mark..and no one else can do it for us.

I would add that there is a different from being a Christians and those who just call themselves Christian. We know that as the song writer said "The downward rode is crowded". We also know that the way to God is very narrow. If one keeps this in mind, what occurs shouldn't be surprising. Sad, yes..... it just shows that many don't truly want God, but rather the benefits it can offer. But the time is coming and has come where the difference will show even the more between those who are truly saved and those who aren't...... we do see the great falling away.

Nikkol..you have hit on something that is very important. Many do call themselves Christians and accept it gladly when they are addressed by others as Christians. Attending church regularly, toking a Bible, knowing all of the cliches; yet, no willingness to accept the challenge. There is a remnant who will not turn away; they will continue to stand dispite what is thrown their way. I was talking to someone and telling them that anybody can be a Christian; but, not everyone is a Believer.

So much of what we say and teach is from what others have obtained rather from the voice of God..I agree that we must press toward the mark..and no one else can do it for us. A whole lot of what we are going to hear is going to be through God's designated mouthpieces. Thats how God set it up. Thats why HE assigned Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist and Teachers... For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: The problem is that we often blame leadersip for our underdeveloped spiritual lives. And while yes leadership must be held accountable it is OUR job to draw closer to the Lord and the reality is that MOST saints dont ( even this saint can draw a WHOLE lot closer to the Lord ) I have been in raggedy messed up churches with jacked up messed up leadership and STILL was able to draw close to the Lord. In fact I grew a whole lot in those seasons in my life. And I have seen people sit under powerful anointed leadership that loves their sheep and cares for them that supports them and would walk through hell fire for them and watched them same folks regress and regress in their growth. Ultimately is this.. Our effectiveness for God isnt up to God. Its ip to us.

So, GDD...is it possible that alot of what is happening is because of complacency and the attitude that the children of Israel took when God told them to separate themselves and prepare themselves to meet with him..and later told Moses to go to God for them ?
GDD..how did you come with your screen name ?

GDD..how did you come with your screen name ? I believe that yes a lot of it is complacency. A lot of it is laziness. A lot of is is a true lack of fear of God ( something God has been showing me a lot lately ) , a lot of it is a lack of knowledge, A lot of is the reality we havent fully committed our lives to Jesus. A lot of it is the carnality we hold onto so desparately for the sake of " identity" and the list goes on and on. We have to determine what it is for us and then find God's answer to it. The screen name came from the line of a song. When I first got online I was using my nickname and while playing the song God said, Thats the name you should use. Been using it ever since.

Giants, this may not be the same song, but it is so befitting to what you continuously post. Giants do die, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
Giants, they die, just walk around the Jericho wall.
Now we come in Your name and we stand on Your word, what is loosed in the heavens, will be loosed on earth.
Now we come in Your name and we stand on Your word, what is loosed in the heavens, will be loosed on earth; let God arise, giant, die.
Bridge: Your praise will bring down strong holds. When you pray, you will see miracles. Just pray when things seem impossible and the King of Glory will show His glory; let God arise, giant, die.
Chorus
Vamp 1: When you praise, When you praise, When you praise, they gotta come down.
Vamp 2: When you worship, When you worship, When you worship, they gotta come down.
Vamp 3: When you shout, just shout. When you shout, they gotta come down.
Vamp 4: They gotta come down.
Ending: Let God arise, giant die.

The song I was speaking of goes something like this
Giants Do Die Victory Won Dont be afraind There power in the Son Keep hope inside Pray through the night The battle is not yours to fight Giants Do Die
All the Giants in your life Every high place Christ will raise up a standard against them
All the Giants in your life Every high place Christ will raise up a standard against them
They're coming down Every stronghold in your life Just pull them down They're coming down Every stronghold in your life Just pull them down
One key to life I have found is that the GREATEST Giant you will ever face if the one you see in the mirror every day. If you can kill him. You can face any Giants and win.
