What does it mean for "a soul to prosper"?
How does it happen? What does it take? Is it us making it happen? Why does a soul need to prosper? What if it does not? How do we define that soul prosperity?

Ok right now I am doing so studying on this why is the soul different from the spirit. So bare with me and let me share with you what I have learn so far. First I have to give point A before taken you to point B so that you can see the difference. I know your topic the propersing soul but I need to take you here first.
We all know that we are created in the image of God and that God is Spirit. "The Spirit itself (Himself) beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God." In other words, the Spirit of God bears witness with the spirit of man that is in us. Jesus said to Nicodemus,....."Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. He also said "that which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Which He was talking about the spiritual birth. Now the part of man that is born again is his spirit....man spirit receives eternal life.
The Spirit and Soul are not the same Heb 4:12 only the word of God can divide the spirit and the soul. Many Christians misquote this saying Body, Soul, and Spirit when the word says Spirit, Soul, and Body 1 Thess 5:33. We think more body conscious than Spirit conscious. And your probably saying but what does that have to do with this topic......hold on I'm getting there.
With my spirit I cantact the spiritual realm because God is spirit and we worship Him in spirit and in truth. Body I contact the physical realm, and with my soul I contact the intellectual or soulish realm (which includes the emotions and the intellect.) 1 Cor 14:14 "for I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. Our understanding, or our natural human mentality, is a part of our soul. How can our soul pray? IT CAN'T.......the only thing that is active within this body is our spirit man. Our soul is not the one that is born again the saving of the soul is a process. James 1:21 says receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
James is talking to born-again believers. Yet he encourages these born-again, Spirit-filled people to receive the engrafted Word with meekness.....which is able to save your souls. So evidently, their souls were not saved. OUr spirit is born again but our intellect and emotions which comprise our soul still have to be dealt with. They are not born again. They are to be renewed. Born again is becoming a new creature. Paul talks about the renewing of the mind, (Ro.12:2)

ok I'm back....I left off with Paul saying about renewing the mind. Ro. 12:2 says "and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. David spoke of restoring of the soul: Ps 23:3. Renewed or Restoring is really talking about the samething. You never hear that God restores our spirit it becomes a brand new creature, Our souls however must be renewed. So what does this have to do with your topic.....Our soul properous by reading the word of God daily. It is the word of God that saves our souls, that renew our minds.
When the mind becomes renewed with the word of God, then we think in line with what God's word says. We are able to know and prove the permissive and the perfect will of god because the word of god is the will of god. We don't have so many questions about the will of God once we get our souls saved.
So our souls prosperous by reading the Word of God renewing the mind daily. That's why you have Holy Ghost fill Saint walk around with a born again spirit but their souls haven't been renewed that's why there is so many backsliders people do things over and over again because the mind takes control. Until the mind is renewed or restore and is in tuned with the born again spirit our problems would be a whole lot less than what it is today. Are there some out there like that? Yes, I believe so that their are some whose spirit and mind is in tune with each other. Some of us is still hard headed......I guess that's why God is a forgiving God.

It kind of reminds me of the saying that says you know two people really love each other, because they begin to look like each other.
