I was reading Job, and found something quite interesting that has never popped out to me before. I know that it was the Holy Ghost revealing something so simple that I think we miss over all the time, because we have become so consumed with labeling our experiences, as a "job experience".
In the story of Job, we are shown that Job was perfect and upright, feared God and eschewed evil. He lost all of his economical stability, he buried what 8 children?? Not only that, after suffering loss, his body becomes afflicted.
We all know the story of Job, so I won't hold up the purpose of my post any longer. The bible is clear that JOB was perfect, and upright man, who feared God and eschewed evil, but most importantly God said There is none like him in all the earth! OK, so why when we are faced with troubled times, or even when the enemy has been given permission to make our life a living hell. Why do we refer to ourselves as having a Job Experience? Why do we compare ourselves to JOB? The bible declares that we are not like him, as there is none like him in all the earth!
Secondly, in every disastrous, situation that job experienced, I believe we miss something so important. "THE MESSENGER". Has anyone ever wondered Who these messenger's were? Has anybody ever wondered HOW these messenger's always escaped the tragic events that took place?
For instance: Job 1: 13-15 says
13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
14 And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:
15 And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
Was this individual hiding? How was he not slain as well?
Job 1:16
16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee
OK How did this person escape Fire falling from heaven?
Job 1:17
17 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldean's made out three bands, and fell F8 upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
Again, How did the messenger escape?
Now this is the kicker for me
Job 1:18
18 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
OK, How do you know whats going on inside a house, unless you are in it. And if you were in it. When four corners of the house fell how in the world did you escape?
Lastly, In looking at the scriptures. Would it be a fair assessment to say that, we should not compare ourself to Job, nor should we claim to have an Job experience, for the simple fact that, we are not Job. We are not perfect, and some of the reasons for our Trials and Tribulations are the result of our own sin. How can we call such a thing a Job experience. Even when we did no sin, the rains falls on the just and unjust, as no body is exempt.
Would it also be a fair assessment to say that if anything, we should consider ourselves to be more like the messenger who, escaped from Danger, only to TELL the story? They had no other purpose, but to TELL the story. We have gone through and exprienced so many things in our life, that would has driven another person to drugs, alchohol, the crazy house, and even death. But we escaped!
Since we are messengers for JESUS, We were saved from danger only to tell the story. Nothing more. We often hear the saying. God has a great work for me to do, so true, and guess what that great work is.. TO TELL THE STORY.
