I have no issues with it. I believe its something that took place back in the early church age, and is still practiced in the Orthodox Christian Church. There were rules on everything back then I believe the orthodox bible have those books included as scripture.

Good question Giants !! Many churches do have them; yet, the church does not operate in accordance to the Bible..but, it operates based on the decisions of board of men. And some churches don't have them for various reason...a vote can get the Pastor ousted, maybe because the abuse of those laws..more focus is placed on the by laws and rules instead of what the Bible says regarding a situation. I am not changing the subject..if you saw the movie The Fighting Temptations..the church by laws were used to keep people in check..there are many reasons..

One thing I consider.... We are not living in the Bible days.... What was good at the time may not be good for us.... We dealing with a different culture, time period, people, trails, tribulations, temptations, economy and disposition.... During the Book of Acts.... the Church was at an infant stage... most of their worship and service were similar to the Jewish, because they were Jews. Remember Jesus gave Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers to the Church... You hear very little about the pastors and evangelists, mainly the pastors.... because they were new to the church.... We have to relate to the OT shepherd to really understand the pastor duties, and authorities. The apostles were new too, the disciples were the first apostles beside Jesus and they have established the first church. The Bible gave some outline of how a church to be set, but not in details about how a church should be run. We know what is acceptable and unacceptable in the church through the Word and through the Holy Spirit for those thing that are not listed in the Bible (example drug use).
A church can not operates properly without by law and rules... every house (Church) have a different vision and purpose and must be set up to fulfill that vision and to walk in purpose. Every church are not going to have the same rules. The rule should lined up with the scriptures, but may not be spell out in the scriptures.

Good point..Beck !! Some are and some aren't...such voting in a Pastor...then voting him out because he won't do what they want him to do..that's not Biblical.
