Praise the Lord Saints,
A discussion came up in bible class last night. If there's a scripture please give it.
Do we as saints suppose to give blood and Receive Blood.
Here were the thoughts
1. We haven't read in the bible where they gave blood or someone receiving blood
2. The bible states not to drink blood.. The difference is you are not drinking it but a needle is pumping it through your veins
3. The women which the issue of blood the doctors couldn't help her because they didn't have any thing to stop her from bleeding.. So she had to go to Doctor Jesus to get heal.
4. I will give blood if the blood is going to a saint. Because I don't want to give it to a sinner because they are going to continue to do what they want to do{the ones that don't have a mind to get save}
5. It really up to God any way if you are going to live or not...receiveing blood to keep your from dying is not to stop you from dying
6. Doctors always trying to come up with a way to prolong life{technology} I don't think God is all into these Scientist anyway.

I donate blood and I don't care who it goes too. I wouldn't specify it only go to a saved person, we are all sinners saved by grace and what if I needed it before I was saved...

Here is some info I found while researching this...
Acts 15:19-21,28 is the Scripture JW typically point to as the reason they refuse to accept blood donations. Acts 15:20 says, "Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood." It is clear from the context that the instructions were against eating / drinking blood, not blood transfusions. Blood transfusions were not even possible in Bible times, so there is no possibility that this Scripture could be referring to blood transfusions. There were many pagan religious practices that involved eating and drinking blood and/or strangling an animal to keep more of its blood in its meat. This is what the Bible speaks against, not blood transfusions.
Is it acceptable for a Christian to receive or give a blood transfusion? Since the Bible does not explicitly say, a decision of this nature can only be made between a person and God. A person should carefully and prayerfully consider what God would have them to do in regards to receiving / giving a blood transfusion. There is no command either way in Scripture. Blood transfusions are therefore a matter of conscience.

There is no sin in donating or receiving blood. If so, then my job as of now is a sin before God, since I work for the American Red Cross.

Amen KB!
I had to receive blood during an emergency operation. If this was a sin...it's the one and only sin that I would be grateful for.
