Psalm 82:6 I said, Ye are gods, And all of you sons of the Most High
John 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, ye are gods?
WOF preachers love these scriptures. If Psalm 82:6 and John 10:34 don’t actually mean what WOF says, then what is their true meaning? If WOF is correct in interpretation, could context be incorrect?

Definition of "god" God / god n. God 1. A being conceived as the perfect, omnipotent, omniscient originator and ruler of the universe, the principal object of faith and worship in monotheistic religions.
2. The force, effect, or a manifestation or aspect of this being.
3. A being of supernatural powers or attributes, believed in and worshiped by a people, especially a male deity thought to control some part of nature or reality.
4. An image of a supernatural being; an idol.
5. One that is worshiped, idealized, or followed: Money was their god.
6. A very handsome man.
7. A powerful ruler or despot.
I believe definition number two applies moreso to us....

I believe we are God-men. A good point of discussion in light of the question is : has Christ come to transform us back to Adamic status or to something else?

We know that we don't have the same power as God and that He is Lord over all, so what is it that we gods over?

For me the god side is the enjoyment, sharing and of display of the character and attributes of the Godhead as opposed to being lord and chief over the wild patch at the bottom of my garden.
Hope i make sense

I believe so... remember Adam was made in the image of GOD... and one prophet seen the Lord on fire from his loins up and from his loins down. I believe Adam was in the same state until the fall, that is why he seen himself naked...cause before his fall... flesh was not an object...

That through Jesus we have the force (power), aspect, authority and manifestation of the GOD..... We aren't gods over anything but we have power as God through Jesus........... If we have the same authority, force and power as God (through Jesus) how does this differ from WOF teaching? In order to have authority, you've got to be able to exercise it -- otherwise what would be the point? That's if "gods" refers to authority and force. I believe so... remember Adam was made in the image of GOD... and one prophet seen the Lord on fire from his loins up and from his loins down. I believe Adam was in the same state until the fall, that is why he seen himself naked...cause before his fall... flesh was not an object... Even after Adam's fall, we're referred to as gods, so what aspects of "god" status did/do we retain?

the word " god " in that text is translated I believe as " ruler " and such is our status in the kingdom. We are kings and priests unto our God. We are called to rule in God's stead on the earth as His representatives. We can do so because of Jesus and His sacrifice and our receiving Him as Lord. When we made Jesus our Lord he made us " rulers ". He gave us power and authority. He gabe us the authority of His name. He made us conquerors.

KB, that article came to the same conclusions that I've seen as well, and one which I tend to agree with.
