This man has been hurt..........real bad. The only difference between him and a lot of us is that he recorded his feelings. I know some of us have said worse behind closed doors.
And we do need to pray for him.

And we do need to pray for him. I'm not passing judgment on the dude and yeah I'm sure many times we have all felt some kinda way about things we experienced in life... but there is a way to handle what we go through. No doubt he needs prayer and he probably needs to be mentored a little better than what he is currently getting. He calls what he did.."keeping it real", I say he is being immature and childish. But hey this is what churchianity is about.

Is it possible that the body of Christ at large is partly responsible for the unseemingly off the wall behaviors that we see..because we have them superstars by idolizing them ? In turn making it easy for them to perform and entertain; even though some things are evident and because of who they ?

I believe that He is more than hurt. He calls himself the "Black Maverick" what ever that maybe.
I lived in california during those times when tonex dressed very VERY strange, but us folks in cali loved that about it. Yea people who didn't understand called him a freak, but many san diegans dressed like freaks.
There is no way he can continue to send mixed messages to his church, which he still currently pastors.

I think he has gotten too comfortable in the "liberty in Christ" Me and my husband was talkin and he was saying that this is going to turn into a lil movement (not that ppl arent already doing their own thing) before long, that ppl will still be doing whatever they want in the name of Christ, or hurt, or free expression, or liberty in Christ, and still be confessing Christ and going forth operating in the gifts and so forth, like "its yo thang do what you wanna do" Just like Tonex said in his lil rhyme, that if ppl dont watch out he's going to break out with the biggest revival more bigger than Azusa, in other words you lookin at how I am and all but you dont know God is still with me. Now im not judging or anything, but we must be careful, we'll go to shake ourselves like Samson and it wont be nothin there........ That's why its important to stay before the Lord and operate in humilty. Even though he can be hurt and all, I dont see humility. Some of the time when one has been broken up or wounded there can come with it a great sense of humility, and they will be open towards what God is saying and doing, because they are in need versus Being arrogant and pompous goin off on how we feel. Im sure if we all came out with how we feel about how some ppl treated us especially church folks, there would be some cussin, fightin, hatin, etc because that's our nature, but because we have received the spirit of God we have experienced a change from the inside out, and being a church baby myself I guess I could say been there done that, but I had to always look to the Lord and not take it into my own hands totally, or it would have destroyed me, but I ALLOWED God to work on me, it wasnt easy and it was surely a humbling experience each time. So I know it can be done, if he did it for me he'll do it for anybody. But my heart goes out towards the brother though, I pray that he finds his place again.

Black maverick means someone who thinks independently from everyone else. Whats sad is the ones who are calling tonex a homosexual isn't the church.. its the general media. He was dropped from his label because of the things thought deemed to be out of the scope of Gospel music. If he is is frustrated and upset and hurt... maybe he should take his own advice and allow God to make him over again, and stop trying to be like the rich man walking away with his head held low. Certain things we cant do as christians... he needs to accept that and stop the struggle.

Beck..you mentioned something that we often miss; though it is often the missing piece of the puzzle. In your definition you stated that a maverick is someone who does what they want to do..parphasing. Sadly, among those in that generation that spirit is present and quite noticable amongst those who are gifted and anointed in the ministry of music. They know they are anointed, they know how to work the crowds, then know how to usher in the presence of the Lord, yet, they have no restraints and will not submit to anyone..because they know they are the bomb. Proverbs 29:18 clearly states that where there is vision the people cast off restraints. I woke up yesterday and caught approx the last 5 -10 min of Super Gospelfest and Tonex was the last performer..he reminded me of Prince many years with the hair over the eyes, and etc. A broken spirit the Lord does not despise..yet, how often do we forget to go to Daddy in those moments...humility is not option it an requirement.

I also think the death of his dad about 2 years ago or so has something to do with this as well.
I'm not sure who he's accountable to spiritually, but he/they really need to step up if they aren't already doing so.
Now I'm not going to act like I haven't cussed before (I'm working on my road rage....y'all pray for me), but to do it in front of the whole world? That takes it to an entirely different level.

Yep. He did it in a non-judgmental way and simply presented the pure Word of God.

I have not watchd th you tube message by Tonex but my heart goes out to him as another believer in the lord. A year ago i said it and had to duck rocks for saying so but the bible says that a novice should not be put in a position of authority. Christianity is a call to suffer and as bitter as that cup is to drink it takes a seasoned saint to take a hit or a multitude of them to keep on ticking. This young man has been through a lot and is still on his journey and so he needs to take a hiatus and let Jesus make him over again like only He can. He is the only shepherd who can lead us besides the still waters which our souls desperately need in times of refreshing. I think i am actually going to write him a letter -let us continue to lift this bro up in prayer.
