I have many questions. One of my main questions is why we in America don't seem to have the same manifestation of God's glory/power as those in other countries. We serve the same God and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, yet we don't read of many instantaneous (sp) healings etc - though this is not to say that it doesn't happen.
I began to study the kingdom of Heaven. Most times that it is mentioned in the gospels there was some manifestation of some sort. Even in the book of Acts when they went to "further the kingdom" it would also speak of signs & wonders, heallings and/or casting out of demons.
Jesus told his disciples that the "kingdom of heaven was at hand" therefore they are to,heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers. When He sent them out He gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.
Right now, I am going through Matthew writing everything concerning the Kingdom of Heaven and will continue with Mark, Luke and John and will complete it through Acts.
What is it that we are missing?

Thanks for replying Giants! That is also a question that I have written in my notebook. I am trying to go about this study using the bible alone and not 50 different commentaries, however any input you have would be greatly appreciated! I will be back to share my thoughts - right now I am just on my 15 minute break and don't really have that much time.

In basic terms, the Kingdom of Heaven refers to God's sovereign rule in the universe. It refers to the coming of Jesus Christ and all He was sent to do and accomplish, the culmination of such will not be until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and therefore the Kingdom of Heaven is now and yet to come.
I guess my main focus is that I believe that there is a kingdom of heaven message, ministry and manifestation. I know that all 3 are operating in other countries but I don't see much of it in the United States. I am not saying that it doesn't happen here because I have not been everywhere but you ALWAYS hear about it happening in other places. I am just studying to see what is missing?
Let's discuss and break down the message, ministry and manisfestation of the kingdom of heaven.

20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

Yes, Giants - this is also true. However, with the kingdom within us there is a message and ministry which results in a certain manifestation as a result. My honest question that I have before the Father is a personal one and that is.....
Why am I not walking in that which you have given to all believers since the kingdom of Heaven/God is in fact within me? Where am I falling short? Is it my faith, then help my unbelief.
Am I making sense, giants?

ASWSOY, I'm hearing these questions from many who love and profess Christ and long for His appearing,... including myself. And I think that when we open ourselves to some hard truth and true transparency, we have the real answer right here... ...at least that's what I've been hearing from Holy Spirit. Imho, Jesus made and Holy Spirit makes it real plain in Matthew 17:19-20: "Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. "(Verse 21 is an "add-on" which means Jesus ain't say that part. Perhaps that was one beginning and example of our habit of substituting good works and making excuses for our powerlessness...) Like you, I believe that seemingly simple and truly humble prayer you quoted from Mark 9:24: "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" has such and much significance in the results we, as the Body of Christ are, or are not seeing. I know it does for me.  |

My purpose of "BUMPING" this thread is to disucss "church" vs the "kingdom of Heaven". Again, if we are advancing the Kingdom, should we not also see the manifestations that were evident during the time the New Testament was written?

The Message: The messages on the Kingdom vary and it actuallydepends on who you talk to and who is preaching the mesage at that time. Many messages are surrounded getting "your" stuff which to is actually self centered and self seeking. And this my own opinion we hear messages based on what we are to get..but, no one ever tells you that it's going to cost you something..and that there must be a sacrifrice. I know that God wants us to propser...yet, the Word of God did not as you prosper that your soul will; it's actually reverse as the soul propspers that you will prosper in every area of your life..too often it is seen as receiving something monetary without being obedient to the Lord or his spoken Word.
Ministry: Many ministries talk about the kingdom of God; yet, it's always tied to works..and one obtaining everything they want because they earned..and we all know that's not the way it works. Giving, serving, and etc..means nothing if you have been transformed by God and be not longer being conformed to the world.
Manifestation of the Kingdom of Heaven: I believe that the manifestation will come when we give ourselves wholeheartedly to the Lord and believe because he said it and that settles it. I have often asked the question of why we don't see the manisfestions like we see in others. They are believing God for the impossible and the only they have to offer the Lord is their faith to believe the miracle will come to pass. In America we don't stretch our faith for the unseen..because we have to see the results immediately..as we believe God for the small things.
