How do couples balance their relationship when both partners are in ministry? and how to handle the conflicts (jealousy that occurs) when ministering together? For instance the Husband may not have the gift of laying on hand but the wife does, the Husband preaches the sermon, have an altar call and that wife is led by the spirit to lay hands and minister to those on the altar and the anointing is so high that people are slain in the spirit everywhere... Well now the congregants look forward to the wife ministering and not so much the husband because of the gift the wife has... The husband is not feeling the love from the members and jealousy is raising its ugly head in that relationship.... I hope that is clear enough for ya  |

Sounds to me like the couple simply needs to talk. God distributes His gifts as He wants it aint about anyone being more talented that the other and that mindset should definitely not exist in any marriage as far as i am concerned.

Kitty,
I just came across this thread and GIRL YOU BETTA GO! This actually excites me! For one thing, it's not out there and God has placed it in your hands to put it out there. Have you thought about that? That really blesses me because God has a knack for giving NEW IDEAS to HIS PEOPLE. We're supposed to be the ones blazing new trails.
(I think it excites me too because my book of poetry will be done in a way that I don't think another one has been done. Another FIRST for the kingdom! )
As this thing grows girl you can forget it just being about couples married at least ten years. You'll have to expand. That website will grow into a section for the ("youngins) the newlyweds, and yes the engaged. The young parents, the blended families, (step children,) the whole nine. All within the Black community. I believe it's God leading you to center around the Black marriage specifically because it is true that we need a place for us. And that's not a race statement either. The nurturing we need as a community will have to come from us within our community. And don't be surprised when folks start asking for single's corner. There will be copies but you'll be the original. Just go for it! Nothing is too big or too hard. Girl I feel this! I'm not trying to tell you what to do. But I will say this, Do exactly what you're led to do but DO NOT set a limit on it.
Okay earlier you asked for suggestions on questions for the couples. I like the one from a long time ago. I actually just reposted it in another thread. Especially for couples who have been married at least ten years because by now they have learned A LOT.
WHAT DO YOU WISH SOMEONE HAD TOLD YOU BEFORE YOU GOT MARRIED?
I would love to see their answers to that. When we did it on here we got wonderful feedback.

I'm experiencing the same thing with my book. Some days I don't work on it at all. I think that's okay to an extent. Then other days I work on it even though I don't feel like it. Those seem to be the days I get the most accomplished and do a better job editing and getting my wording right.
It's gonna be a BLESSING! The idea has already blessed me so I know the site is going to be a great blessing.

Hey Guys,
I just wanted to keep you all posted on this project... I'm currently hoping to get it up and running by May 17th. I have gotten pictures fromt he majority of couples. I'm now in the process of requesting that people turn in their testimonies to me.
I had to take a bit of a breather from the project as I got a bit backed up due to some family issues and school. But now I have only 2 more weeks of school and everything is winding down. So I have more time to focus on the project again.

hey Guys,
I just wanted to give you all an update on the web site... So far my web designer made a very nice template for the site. I'm very pleased with it... I have received pictures from just about everyone. I have testimonies for 3 couples but I haven't received any from you guys on the site.
I hoping to receive testimonies from Giants and Jasmine... I contacted Nikkol via email and she said she was going to get it back to me soon... I think I'm gonna have to take another trip out to her house in order to catch up with her! LOL
Plus I still have the wonderful picture of her and her husband that I want to personally return. Although the web site will be an ongoing project in which i will just continue to add couples over time... I am shooting to start having the web site up and running online by July...
So again guys... keep me up in prayer about this project... It really for us to get wisdom from seasoned married saints... My ideas and thoughts aren't to be reflected here at all... I'm just gathering the information and the people...
