Sadly, he WILL sign it, thus disappointing a WHOLE lot of people who blindly voted for him because he's black without knowing a THING about his POLITICS.
Those who voted for him with EYES WIDE OPEN are too disappointed but not taken off guard. They weighed the risks, counted up ALL that he stands for and still decided to vote for him/his party inspite of PRE ELECTION SIGNS that showed us so clearly where he stood on issues like this.
p.s. THIS is just the beginning...................

In light of this thread; I have a question to ask:
As saints of God living in a free world do we really expect to legislate morality, salvation and impose our Christian belief on every person in this country?

Hello Guys,
Are you all really aware of what it is that you are signing? The Freedom of Choice Act is just to protect Roe verse Wade as it currently stands... It doesn't do any of the claims that are made on the web site...
Are you all aware that even though the web site is getting people to sign according to their emotions they have a links to the bill in Congress and in Senate that you all can read...
I took the time to do so...
The Freedom of Choice Act bill doesn't change the laws or regulations that state that a woman can't have an abortion when the unborn child is considered viable ( able to live with medical intervention if born)...
All you all aware that technically according to currently law Roe verse Wade... a woman can't legally have an abortion in the 3rd trimester at all unless it is a medical threat to her life?
All you all aware that technically the point of viablility is considered to be in the beginning of the 2nd trimester?
All you all aware that most abortions can't be performed until after 8 weeks of pregnancy?
So that technically out of a pregnancy that lasts for 36-38 weeks... a woman has a very small amount of time in which she can get an abortion legally... and that's about 4 weeks.
Anything else past that is usually done in a hospital and not a clinic and done because the woman health is in danger...
The Freedom of Choice Act is a law that protects the current law as it is... South Dako. tried to pass a law that states that all abortions were going to be illegal regards of if it endanger the life of the woman or not...
The Freedom of Choice Act prevents states from making laws that go against the federal laws that were already put in place...
And Saints... as much as we all know that God isn't pleased with abortion we need to also accept that there are certain cases that we can't place a burden on other people in which we feel that they should carry.
For example... Although I think sex outside of marriage is wrong... although I think abortion is wrong... I don't think it is God's will for a woman to have to carry a child if she was raped, that goes double for the cases of children under the age of 16 and cases of incest.
And as a child of 10 that was having a period... I gurantee you that I wasn't a WOMAN at that age and Yes... I had male relatives that were after me and my parents placed me in situations in which I was in danger... And yes I spoke up to the both of them my mother and my father!
Sooo I will as a Christian... ALWAYS support a woman's right to choose with peace of mind because 1. there is no scripture that directly addresses abortion... We both know that rape and incest is against God's will...

Oh Yeah.... More info... The web site also makes claims about the parental rights... Suggesting that it prevents parents from being notified about their children having an abortion... That's really kind of null and void... Want to know why? Because in most states... a female indiviual if under 18 is automatically by law emancipated sp? to being an adult... once they become pregnant... Yes.... that right... any female whether they are 11, 12 or 17 are by law considered to be an adult once they become pregnant... And Trust me there are sooooooo many reasons why this is the case!!! For example..... What about the cases where the parent want the child to have an abortion and they DON'T want one? rare but happens... Another example... a person that is 15 years old and pregnant... goes into early labour... The hospital in normal situations has to ask permission from a parent to do surgery or any kind of treatments... Well... imagine giving birth and you have to ask your Mama if you can have drugs for the pain? Or asking your Mother if you can have a C-sect verse normal delivery.... Soooo the law for thos covers many issues that can arise... Not simply if the child 11, 13 or 17 wants an abortion... And by the way... In most cases... if a poor child becomes pregnant at the ages of 10, 11, 13 due to the parent placing them in harms way... They should automatic loose custody of both the child that was raped and the resulting baby... Where are all the saints... looking to give a supporting hand or in a uproar over these situations? ? Truthfully.... I'm glad for a separation of church and state... Many of us talk tough stuff until we find ourselves walking a mile in somebody elses shoes.... Kitty

Actually... um yes many of us do.... Well if that's the case we would be living in a theocracy and not a democracy and if that's the case……… who’s to say that we would live in a theocratic government ran by Christians...... We could be living under Muslim or Buddhism rule………….where we wouldn’t be able to discuss our Christian beliefs at all in any format……. Isn’t God all about the freedom of choice too? If God gives humans the freedom to choose than who are we to legislate our beliefs upon the entire country…… I am against voting for legislation based upon “religious” beliefs because everyone who is in office is not a Christian just as everyone who runs this country is not Christian…. If we start taking away a woman’s right to choose…….we could have the likes of Jeff Warren / Jim Jones rise up and start legislating the rights for polygamy and child brides….. We are a democratic nation and it is up to us to create laws that service the nation and not just one religious sect.........

We voted to save this country from going under... His policies consist more than abortion and right now he is not even thinking about it.... He haven't mention anything about abortion... His main concern is to get the economy back on track... creates 2.2million jobs... Tax cut for lower and middle working class... And trying to keep the auto companies from going under, so no more job will be cut . Even with FOCA and it is 10X better than putting McCain/Palin in the office... Palin is a dangerous person that will put his country at risk... YES even if I knew this.... I will still vote for Obama... and it is not because he is black or Dem,....

We know that politicians will say all sorts of things to lock down a particular voting bloc. And secondly, if we will pray as we're supposed to, it doesn't have to be so. You make it sound as if Obama is beyond divine influence. And furthermore, I seriously doubt that anyone who votes for any candidate agrees with that candidate on 100% of the issues. You've gotta take the good along with the bad when it comes to any candidate.

For me, knowing that Our Father is the very originator and author of our "freedom of choice", just the name "Freedom of Choice Act" led me directly to prayer before sigining it. And here's where I am at this point... Because I am a follower of Christ, I believe that abortion is murder and therefore I staunchly oppose abortion. Because I am a follower of Christ I fervently support and defend a woman's right to choose what she does with her body. And nope, I am not all conflicted about that because I see them as two very different issues... especially as an (at least in earthly terms) American citizen. Moreover, I simply do not believe that abortion (or any sin) can ever be legislated or mandated away. Because I do believe that abortion, like any sin, can be, will be, and is ended, not by taking away or limiting God's gift of free will and choice, but (ironically?) only by our (especially women in this case) choosing to choose right(eous)ly. So while I do understand, appreciate and certainly do not oppose the position(s) of those who are signing this petition, I, for one, simply choose not to. Because imho, it is nothing more than Christians making yet another well-intentioned but reactionary move of opposition that still misses the (axe to the root) point and therefore will not significantly or effectively address the sin of abortion.
