Someone mentioned to me that there was a big "to do" about Yolanda Adams performing with Prince, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan on the BET Music Awards. I believe the song she was singing was "I'm Every Woman".
I was able to catch a repeat of her performance. Do you think that this is a no-no for her? Why or why not.

She loves music, so she sings... the problem comes in when artist starts thinking.. its okay for me to compromise, because im the only jesus they will see. I have a problem with that type of thinking...

she did it cause Chaka asked her to cause it was an award for her. She wanted Whitney, but she couldn't be there so she stated that Yolanda could do her vocals better than anyone....

As a Gospel Singer who confesses to be Saved does that makes it OK to sing a secular song with sexual innuendos and witchcraft in it just because Chaka Kahn suggests that Yolanda Adams sings it? |

I believe, from what I read in Sister to Sister, Yolanda did it as a favor to Chaka Khan. Now, whether she prayed about it first, or repented... I can't tell you. I can tell you this... she sang the song as a singer...
BTW: She sang Sweet Thang, by herself... she said I'm Every Woman with Chaka, who sang the verse....

What are all you "holy, sanctified" folks doing watching the BET Awards anyway... they wasn't singing no gospel or was it so you could rebuke every act that came on???!!! (LOL LOL LOL)

I just have issues with stuff like this because without watering it down... its compromise. Seriously...If your going to be a Gospel singer, then SING GOSPEL... if your just an Artist who is confused about your calling and what limitations we have as Christians then sit down, dont call yourself a minister of the gospel and get some good teaching... bottom line. Yes as christians we have liberty, but our liberty has has restrictions and regs that we MUST follow.
People crack me up with the "how are they ever going to see Jesus if we are too afraid to go where they are"... the problem is that the reason they are doing what they are doing is because THEY HAVE ALREADY rejected the Jesus of the bible. Stop compromising and start praying..start living a godly standard filled life.. God NEVER compromised.. some of the saints need to ditch this compromising christianity and get with standard the resists satanic floods..
Sorry for my rant... back to my corner I must gooooooo...lol

I never mentioned her by name...So I have no place to judge by my own standards..because Im a sinner saved by grace... but he has given us a guideline on what a christian should.. Scriptures never say that we shouldnt judge... it says we cannot judge by our own rightousness..  |
