Duh!!!! Gift of Singleness... follow the thread.... Now THAT was funny! But yes, that is exactly what I was talking about. Some people say that to remain single for a woman is against everything that God created woman for.

Although you meant this as a joke there are many who feel that way though they just won't use the "bare feet and pregnant" line. I know that both are mentioned in the bible - and paul calls singleness a grace gift - yet there are some who stick to the "its not good for man to be alone ------ be fruitful and multiply". What say ye?

Ask the Lord His will for your life. He will tell you what HIS plans for you are.

Honey......ain't nothing like being a single woman. Yesssssss it gets ruff sometimes and then I have to ask God to help me to contain myself. I have been divorce for 13yrs married for 10 and honestly I don't miss it. That was ruff too!!!!! I say to single women enjoy your life until God bring someone in your life if its not meant for you to be married then that's what God intended it to be. atrue

I think that whether it's a gift depends precisely on how we look at it. If, as Giants mentioned, we seek the Lord sincerely about it, no ifs and buts, and the Lord shows us that, yes, whether for a season or longer, He has meant for it to be, then certainly it's a gift from God, and it is good. Once we accept it as such, we should (keyword be able to move on with our life and be open to discover what God has in store for us at this time , and our focus should be on what God wants it to be. Not our parents, not our friends... It is true that with singleness comes freedom. However, that might very well be the real challenge. I believe that, as a gift, it is a very special one, like not being pushed out of the nest too soon, having a chance to really fellowship with God - our Father - very closely longer in our life. Most people don't believe that it is possible to be fulfilled, satisfied, balanced, to have joy, while being single. Cloud 9 is not bad, but God can and will take us higher, if we let Him.

Adam did not come into the world married.
This whole idolization of singleness stems from people not knowing what God's will for their life and also having too much time on their hands.
We are organising a fundraising event for food relief for the 600,000 pople who are dying in kenya due to famine -come join us if u have nothing else to do.

Singleness is a gift.. Marriage is a gift.. I say simply find out which gift God has for you and enjoy it. I don't think singleness is a gift at all I think its a curse just like me not being able to have children sometimes I think the Lord really hates me
