Is God waiting on You???

Hello Single Saints,
I decided to post this topic after having an rather enlightening conversation with a friend of mine today... Her actions highlighted something that I had been praying about... and then suddenly I felt that God revealed a question that I had posted to Him.

Why are so many saints single? What haven't my sisters in Christ gotten married yet? Why don't the seem to be able to find the husband that you have planned for them?

God why aren't you blessing them?

You see about a year ago I started to pray for specific friends of mine. All of them saved, stable, single Christian women over the age of 35.

It seems as if they have all other parts of their lives together except for the husband... They attend church, are active in some form of minstry, have degrees and half of them have even gotten their own homes...

So I was wondering to God... Why hadn't they received their mates?

One by one... it seems as if God started to show me that it wasn't Him holding them back or with-holding any good thing from them... But that they were holding themselves back from receiving what God was sending their way...

As I talked to each one of these women it started to come to light... why they weren't receiving God's best.

One main issue was trust... 2 I found don't believe that they can be blessed with someone worth while. they don't trust that God will do it... So what are they doing? Well one friend seems to only be involved with guys that are unavailable, one friend is involved with a man that doesn't believe in marriage and she is occasionally sleeping with him...

Another friend today admitting something to be that I found to be the most odd... She signed up to be on eharmony... but would close any matches before it could get to the point of talking on the phone!!!

I was shocked... I asked her... why would you do that?

It was then that I realized that many single people are their own worst enemy!

So I ask you guys... those that are single and those observing singles... Do you find that most people are single because they are in God's way? That God is waiting on them rather than them waiting on Him?

For singles answer the question... are you waiting on God or is God waiting on you?

I am not waiting on God - and I don't know if He is waiting for me. I believe "Mr. Right" will come when timing is right.

yep - if it is regarding what I said.....

I am not actively looking for anyone and therefore that is why I say I am not "waiting" on Him. If it is in His plans for me to get married, then He will reveal that to me and it will happen in His time.

They attend church, but it would appear that the heart is very far from God.

What fellowship does light have with darkness? How can two walk together except they agree. Clearly these women aren't living a Christian lifestyle, so what exactly are they expecting from God?

one is messing around with married men? The other is involved with a man who doesn't want to get married. Where is the standard of Holiness? Where is the consecration? Where is the dedication of themselves to God first?

I'm not single, but really its really evident with these sisters they are out doing they own thang. They are not waiting, or waiting on God in any sense.

Im not really sure right now it seems my life is at a stand still right now. Im sure it is that God is waiting on me, I know we are the ones that hold ourselves back and get in the way of are blessing. Its just staying in the will of God and not are own.

God is waiting on us while we're waiting on him. And sometimes in that waiting..you have to take a step..there is action required of us. Yet, I believe that many singles can't stand being alone; so they do the things that the sisters mentioned in the first post do. I was told over the weekend by a friend that we had to get and do things.. meaning let's go to places where men are..she did try one of those Christian's dating and got a match and it turned crazy. While telling me that I needed to sign up..it cost a approx 1000.00 a year. It is possible that while we're waiting on God and God is waiting on us ? There is something that we must do..and something we must be taught during the waiting period.

hmmmm Giant I think alote of times it is God that is waiting on us. Waiting on us to get out of the way and Let Him have His way in our lives, and allow Him to order are steps.

Hi jasmine,

None of my friends are seeing married men... I didn't mean to imply that in my original post. What I should have said was that they are dating men that emotionally unavailable... Those that seem to be dragging their feet about commitment, those that seem to give them mixed signals about being in a relationship.

I'm not talking about women that are involved with having a dark heart... But women that have a heart for God... many of them are mature spiritually in other areas of their lives...

I believe that what God was showing me was that for each person that I in particular was praying about there was a distinct reason that they had not married yet.

God was showing me one of the people was involved in sin (sex outside of marriage) But that's not the case with the others...

For others it is a fear of rejection... a lack of trust... a resistance to even being open to receiving a relationship... Such as my friend that kept on closing out matches on eharmony...

I would say no... most of us singles aren't waiting on God. And this not just from the stand point of looking for people of our choosing that may not be the best for us... It would also include being resistant to being placed in position to receive....

Ok,

I have talked to and ministered to many single men and women of God over the years and I have seen many people women in particular dealing with the issue of singleness.

I think the first problem is that folks treat singleness as a curse. Singleness is something that should be embraced and enjoyed. Its the time of your life to get things together, to gather focus, to spend time with the Lord, to receive vision, instrcution and purpose.

The other issue I see is people who are TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY UNPREPARED for marriage expecting GOD to marry them. First off many of them do not have the level of relationship with GOD they need to have, dont trust HIM, have far too many issues and fears that they have not dealt with. There are mindsets and belief systems that needs renewing regarding men. spouses, and marriage. They have NO IDEA what marriage is.. Ask em.. They will give you this answer.. marriage is a ministry.. THEN ask them.. ok.. What is a ministry... what specific areas are YOU called to minister too.. What anointing has GOD placed in your life that will be a blessing to YOUR spouse.. ( and I aint talking about sex. cooking and cleaning ).. You know what I get most times.. BLANK STARES... and YET your waiting on God...

Covenant.. whats that ??
Understanding your role as a wife??? Huh. what ?? Im cute and I make good lasagna...
Understanding your husbands role?? Pay bills and make me feel good about me..

I mean I have talked to so many people that arent even REMOTELY prepared... YET they think having a desire makes them qualified...

Waiting on the Lord.. my answer.. NO they arent. You cant wait wavering in faith.. unprepared.. loving God one miniute.. frustrated with Him the next cause you aint got your man yet.. that is NOT waiting... You know what we call that in our church... we call that Waiting to Wait...

What does that mean..

Waiting doesnt count until you are waiting in faith.. patiently.. serving and loving GOD in the process... until you are at that point you are NOT waiting... You are actually DELAYING the process of waiting...

Im not even going to go into all the presumptuous dating, and false starts we get ourselves involved in and then get mad at GOD when that aint the one..

I wanna get married.. OK.. Do you have a vision from God for your marriage.. 95% say NO... They have a vision of a wedding day.. what kind of dress they want.. etc etc.. goody.. the wedding lasts a DAY... here is a hint the minute the preacher says I pronounce you man and wife.. the wedding is OVER !!!!! Now the marriage begins... and WITHOUT A VISION the people perish... Wonder why so many marriages perish.. NO VISION...

And these are things God will tell you BEFORE you are married if you take the time to seek HIM and HIS will...

But the reality I have found.. is most of us dont... we just want what we want when we want it and expect GOD to provide it...

The scripture says a man that finds a WIFE finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord..

When I found my wife she was a WIFE.. she just wasnt married yet... She was PREPARED to be a wife.. She had an understanding of COVENANT.. SHe had an understand of KINGDOM.. SHe had a RELATIONSHIP with the Lord. She had VISION...

When we got married I didnt have a job. I was out of work.. she was out of work.. Yet GOD said.. GO AHEAD Ill provide.. you know what we did.w e stepped out in faith.. We didnt have money for a dress.. a place... a cake.. NOTHING...

Yet she stood up one Sunday in her church and asked for prayer and announced our wedding date...

and IMMEDIATELY...

One woman stood up and said.. Ill pay for your dress..
Another stood up and said I will pay for your flowers...
Another stood up and said I will pay for the cake...

God provided for EVERYTHING in our wedding supernaturally blessing us.. I didnt even have the money to get TO the wedding.. but GOD opened a door for finances....

We had a VISION.. and we knew.. Its GOD's vision so HE is responsible to provide for it !!!!

God had me send my wife my vision plan for a business GOD have me.. This is when I had NO job.. She looked at it.. She gave it to her father to look over.. her father gave it to the financial person at his job who told him.. This plan is so sound it CANT fail... by the time the man explained it to her father he told her.. if I had the money I would invest in it right now... SHE then in turn gave it to HER intercessors to have them PRAY over it...

We have had chalenges in our marriage. We have fought.. We have argued.. My wife still doesnt work.. she is a full time student. somehow ( and dont ask me how I cant figure it out myself.. ) the same money I made which could barely take care of one person.. is taking care of TWO people... We have had challenges... but YET through it all because we know GOD's vsion and plan for us we dont quit... we dont give up...

You know why we aint raptured yet... THE BRIDE AINT READY....

You know why some folks is still single... THE BRIDE AINT READY YET !!!!


You need to be PREPARED for marriage..
