NOW as for the brother in question over whom all of the controversey started, I asked him again last night to explain to me what happened with the two failed attempts at starting a singles ministry and he told me that basically no one wanted to take it on. I asked him why he didn't consider it and he said to me, "I just didn't want to do it. End of discussion." I kid you not, these were his exact words. He also told me the only reason he came to the meeting at all was because he gave me his word that he would come and open up the church. I could feel myself getting irritated with him so I just stopped talking and went on.
Only 6 people including myself showed up for this first meeting. It has been a long week for our church with other department meetings. As I said we are a small congregation and the majority of us serve on more than one committee. So I understand the low turn out. Our church is small, but it is also very busy. We went on with the meeting as planned. The people who did attend were very excited about what I presented and my ideas for the ministry, so much so until the Lord blessed one of them to volunteer for the office of Vice President, and another person volunteered for the office of Treasurer.
Stillfocused you were right, the Lord did send a young man from among his peers to be the Vice-President. He is a single father raising 3 boys, he's the Praise Team director, cleans the church, and works maybe more than one job. He's reliable and the Pastor thinks very highly of him. I gave him a really nice ink pen in a carrying case (I plan to give all of the officers one of these) and I told him that I had been praying for God to send a male to work with me who could help the other brothers out and that He had answered my prayers.
Now, back to the guy in question. He got so excited about the ministry until HE ASKED IF HE COULD BE THE CHAPLAIN, even after his hostile outburst earlier. Obivously, he was suppose to be part of this ministry just in a different capacity. This also PROVES, that sometimes God's will is not obvious and we have to pray in order for it to be revealed! It is crystal clear to me that GOD DID CHANGE THIS MAN'S MIND. Of course, I was tempted to rub it in and give him a hard time, but I didn't ;D. He did apologize to me and said he learned the lesson, never say what you won't do when God is involved.
Kitty, you were right my prayer was just a simple one for help and obviously GOD knew my heart and HE honored that. So thank you, Nikkol, Stillfocused, and Livinganewlife for your support, input and "GODLY" prayers.
