Let be mindful..when we know what has been given to us, done for us, and what we have been delivered from it's not an option to praise God and we have no problem doing it.
So, since everyone is to " get their praise on" what happens when the praises are getting really high and everyone is just praising the Lord with all their might..and sister LaTasha starts dancing with all her might..she working it out...and working it out hard..her movements are smooth and sharp..yet, wait a minute..she's doing the butterfly !! And folks are around her just shouting..work it out it, girl !! work it out !! All that to say everything done in the name of praise is not praise..and everything we offer up to God as praise is not acceptable to him.

...how can we sincerely praise the Lord..with unrepentative hearts ? There was a time when (and probably a lot like "sister LaTasha" ), I sincerely, (meaning the best I knew how) praised God before I even knew I needed to repent (or what that meant). I did it just because I had found that He was just always so good to me even as the hot mess I was. I praised Him because I discovered that He really did love me before, and whether or not, I loved Him and I found that to be so awesome. HALLELUJAH! Just look where He's brought us from! PRAISE THE LORD! I'm thinking "Sister Nurse" might need a different position...

Yeah..he was gloriously saved...and since he was on the floor with those patients who knew they were going to die..I guess they felt he didn't have anything to sing about. Glory to God !! my Mom told he praised the Lord until the day he died..

Again, who says its not acceptable? She is just praising..she is not offering a sacrifice or lifting up worship. God didn't reject praise..he rejected blemished sacrifices.

I think we have to understand as well that we cant offer God any old thing and call it praise.

Is there a specific way one should praise God?
Is there certain words one must utter in order for that to be considered praise?
Is there a certain shout or dance formation one must perform in order to be considered to be praise?

Is there a specific way one should praise God? Is there certain words one must utter in order for that to be considered praise? Is there a certain shout or dance formation one must perform in order to be considered to be praise? Should there be a specific way.. Yes a way in which pleases, honors and brings glory to GOD, One that points to HIM as the source and the force behind all things even our praise. This does not mean that is only ONE way. Some people sing.. some shout.. some clap.. some lift their hands.. some cry.. some spin in a circle.. But I should not see the bump and grind from the club called praise either... We have to remember this we are supposed to give God what HE wants not give God what WE want. Even sister girl who just got saved out of the club should get a check in their spirit from the Spirit of God living on the inside of them... um no.. thats not the way you praise me... or THIS is how I want you to be praised... The church better wake up because the time is growing short where GOD will overlook our ignorances, stupidity and nonsense and gone are the days we can use that as an excuse. We have had far too much teaching.. Far too much word.. and far too many encounters with GOD personally and coporately to continue to operate in some of the way we do, giving God whatever we want thinking in our pride and ignorance that it is acceptable because we gave it.

a sinner does not know what God wants. Matter of fact, I saw a man on sunday who had no intention of giving God any form of praise, get touched by the spirit, and end up dancing. I can't say what he was doing..but it wasn't something seen around the church everyday. It wasn't sexual or grinding, or anything of the sort. His feet wanted to move, and they moved. That same person came to the altar in tears and gave his life to God.
Now, i believe that God honored his "praise" whether man accepted it or not. That man was hit by the spirit and when the spirit hits, he flows..and he flowed from person to person.
Yes, I agree the church in itself need to wake up, but they don't need to wake up from allowing people to praise God. They need to wake up because they too much in their own mess, and constantly trying to tell the world...what is and what aint God when the life they live is a living example, that they don't serve, and worship God.
anybody can praise God...everybody can't worship.
This does not mean that everything a person brings to God will be accepted, however GOD sees the heart, He sees the sincere desires...we don't. We at times can feel the sincerity of a persons actions, deed, and words, but we can't see it.

This does not mean that everything a person brings to God will be accepted, however GOD sees the heart, He sees the sincere desires...we don't. We at times can feel the sincerity of a persons actions, deed, and words, but we can't see it. My point is this simple. Some stuff we call praise aint praise at all. Its folks getting caught up in emotionalism and the beat of the music. And some stuff we think is emotionalism is honest to goodness praise. I dont expect sinners to know how to praise God, but I do expect that the saints of God SHOULD know to a degree what GOD will accept. Now that in no way whatsoever limits anyone from praising GOD in the way in which they choose or in the way the Spirit of God will have them operate in. What I have grown tired of is praise being an exercise of ones FLESH and not an act of one's heart. For some silly reason we only see worship as an act of one's heart and that is not the case at all. In the example that Jasmine has given God moved on the persons heart which created praise, the result of which is that he had an encounter with God. I am tired of seeing folks operate in this stuff we call " praise " and how God moved on them and the next minute ready to cut the sister who stepped on your shoe...

We also need to understand that when the anointing begin to move.... demons and evil spirit begin to manifest... They can't keep still in the present of God. While we sit back and think some are in the Holy Spirit... They are really in another spirit and in need of deliverance.
There was a sister in my church that used to spread out her arms, scream and fall out, after she knock somebody out. She hurt one of the minister. She thought she was praising God and you couldn't tell her anything different. I got beat up a few time in my early day in Christ, by people in the spirit. I learn when to work the floor and whn to move out of the way. I went to one church, and the people went wild!!! I was standing against the wall trying to figure out how I am going to make it to the exit, and they call it praise knocking each other down.
I believe in praising God in a dance, with my hands and my mouth, The Holy Spirit is gentle, He is not going to hurt anyone. He allow us to have control and be sensitive to the person next to us and the small children around us while we praise God.

LOL @ getting beat up a few times!
But seriously, sometimes people who aren't used to the presence of the Lord just don't know how to control their emotions and their movements when it comes to that. There's a YouTube clip out there where this guy literally jumps over this woman's back and calls himself giving God praise. If that were my church and that guy jumped over my mom or one of my female family members like that, he'd catch a swift one to the jaw in a second.

I agree there are things that are being done in the name of praise that God is not pleased. I attended a service were house music was being played before the start of the service. I don't believe just because it's music and God created it music that you can bring in the things of the world and call it praise. There can be no mixtures because it contaminates the presence of God...and yes, I have seen the bump and grind being done as well. Call me religious if you want. I know what I did the clubs and I had enough sense not to step into church the next; doing the same thing. Could it be that there is no reverence for God or the presence of God ?
