Matthew 11: 29
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

huh?
Okay, let me try to be a bit more clear. How do we justify the Mentor/Mentee relationship between two human beings. Please use scripture to support your answer.
Thanks!

I think what Livinganewlife is saying sister is that a mentor is a wise counselor or teacher. Jesus is that and more.."wonderful councelor". Also you can look at Paul and Timothy... Paul took him under his wing, and he served with him in ministry. Timothy mom was Jewish and his father as greek. Paul considered him a "true son" in the gospel (1st Tim 1:2,18) (Ph 2:19-24). That was one of the reasons he wrote to timothy while he left him at Ephesus.. to instruct timothy on how to conduct himself while performing church affairs. He(paul) mentored timothy during his youth.

ASWSOY: I don't know what happened to the rest of my post. However I was saying that a mentor is a teacher and Jesus is our ultimate mentor. He gives Scripture as to how he wants us to be mentored.... Take my yoke and LEARN of me..... Now as two human beings being mentored....hmmmm I don't know about that..... I even thought about Elijah and Elisha but that really wasn't a mentor / Mentee relationship... Naomi and Ruth had a mentor / mentee relationship as she gave instructions to Ruth..... Would you please give an example about what you mean in reference to a mentor / mentee relationship? Thanks,

Mentor: A wise and trusted counselor or teacher. Mentee: One who is mentored
A wise and trusted counselor, could be anybody you come in contact with, who teaches, and pours into your life.
I often hear people say that their father or Mother has been not only a great parent, but a great mentor.
We often hear people referring to their Pastor as their mentor.
Biblical examples of a Mentor/Mentee relationship is very evident. Our first and foremost example of Mentor/Mentee is JESUS and the Disciples. He the Ultimate Counselor, counseled the Disciples and taught them how to Counsel others.
*added* essentially we are all mentors, and have been mentored to. God has assigned a each of us a person, because everything we go through isn't just for us. Its to help somebody else.
I thats the mentorship program, Be helped, So you can help somebody else.

1Sa 18:3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.
1Sa 18:4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that [was] upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.
I have heard it preached that David and Jonathon had a mentor/mentee relationship. Scripture says that Jonathon made a covenant with David (see scripture above). We know that Jonathon looked out for David's life (I Sam 19) and strengthened David's hand while on the run from Saul (ISam 23:16).
But how it's infered that Jonathon taught David how to behave in the palace or acted as his mentor... I have not found the scripture to back it up.
