OK yall i got to jump in this convo One question first: What is the biblical criteria for marriage If you don't mind please give scripture references to support your statements...... Mine contribution will be real simple..."For this cause shall a man leave his mother and father and cleave unto his wife." That was the first criteria for marriage. "Multiply and replenish the earth." was the next. Marriage had nothing to do with Hollywood touchy feely love. We need to determine what is biblical and what is state, or is it both? |

What does the word "burn" in this passage of scripture really mean ? Alot of times we assume that unmarried folks are just jumping from bed to bed to bed..trying to put of that desire that was put in them by God.

I believe the word burn implies "Fire of lust" or "glowing heat of concupiscence", however traditional views of the word would suggest HELL.

My contribution had to do with the original concept of marriage from the beginning, leaving and cleaving and replenishing and having nothing to do with feelings. Most marriages were arranged. I believe that was true in most cultures. |

ohhhhhh I understand kanyon sir, I always wondered that, if you are unable to have children you shouldn't marry, or that there is really no point in getting married cause you can't have children. I was unsure of that for myself cause with the condition that I have I am not going to be able to have children. It does break my heart cause I always wanted to have children of my own.

Surprisingly (or maybe not), in Jewish culture, that tends to be a reason that they can divorce and marry someone else. I know of one popular radio show host that did just that. |
