How does one know if they have a true prohetic call, and not just a desire to be the next Juanita Bynum? How do you know if God really spoke that call in your spirit? What experiences do you have that you can share?
God Bless.......Hischild

How does one know if they have a true prohetic call, and not just a desire to be the next Juanita Bynum? This may not be the answer that you are looking for, but God will tell you what He has called you to be. If your desire is to be anything or anyone other than what God has called you then it is part of a carnal desire and not at all from the Lord. I have found that God will often confirm His Word to you. How He chooses to confirm it is totally up to Him.

Please define what you mean when you say "prophetic call".
Do you mean someone called to walk in the ministry gift of the prophet ?? or do you mean a person that has a prophetic gift ?? ( everyone that prophecies is not necessarily a prophet )

Giants, how do you know that it's not the carnal side of your desires?

God will always confirm His will for our lives if we seek Him first to know HIM and then to know His plan for our lives. Once you receive that confirmation then walk in the grace that is afforded to you to become who God called you to become.
When I heard what i believed God called me to be I asked God to confirm it. And He did. Numerous times. Through various sources. His Word, His Spirit and people of God. I KNOW what I am called to be for Him and what I am called to do for Him.
A lot of our struggles is second guessing ourselves. In all honesty if one had a true understanding of what it means to be a prophet of God one's carnality would not drive you in the direction. However GOD will send confirmation.

You are more than welcome.
i know of a woman once who was told that she was called to be a prophetess of God. Only problem the church she grew up in told people that God doesnt speak to people any more. That created a problem because God was speaking to her and she thought she was either hearing the devil or she was crazy. Funny how people will tell you that God no longer speaks to people but the devil keeps right on blabbing. Well anyway the end result is that I met her and God told me to tell her that He had cal;led her to be a prophetess of God.
Well I turned out to be the second source through which God confirmed His word to her. She had received a prophetic word just the day before about being a prophetess.

The only difference is that the church operates in the prophetic..and actually this is something that ALL churches should be doing, since they declare, that they "allow" the spirit to have his way.
My pastor operates in the prophetic, and his obedience to the Spirit of God, allows us to get on board when the prophetic move is in operation.

Jasmine is right. The prophetic ministry should operate in EVERY church of the Lord Jesus Christ. The problem is that many times either we are ignorant of this ministry of the Lord to the body of believers OR we are too focused on our schedule and our program to give God the freedom to move how HE desires.
While our church has several people operating in the office of the prophet, I have been to churches that had no ordained prophet where the prophetic ministry still operated. One of my old pastors flowed quite a bit in the gift of tongues with the interpretation.
Really for me its just church, but then again I have been in many churches where the prophetic ministry of the Lord was allowed to operate and many of the people of God I know have a prophetic gift ( whether through praise, dance, poetry, dreams and visions, ministry ) or they are called to be prophets of God. So to me its not really different its just the way church is supposed to be.
Now that being said we dont stand around prophesying all day long either. We do a whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooole lot of teaching. Our church has probably laid waste to quite a number of trees with all the handouts we give on different teachings. Sound doctrine is an ABSOLUTE must in ANY ministry.

Giants, I'm glad you pointed two things out, and that is that prophecy is NOT just restricted to pastors or those in leadership and that it MUST be tempered and balanced with teaching. Two EXCELLENT points. I wouldn't mind visiting your church if I was ever up your way.
