Okay KB (or anyone) check this out...
I have a question then. If we are the mansions, which to my understanding you really saying that the souls that go to heaven, or we as ppl who have trusted Christ and become saved, if we are the mansions then when Jesus was speaking at the time he was on earth correct... but he said "in my father's house, there are many mansions" implying that there were already many mansions up there already. If Christ had not been resurrected yet and became the first fruits of the resurrection then who was he referring to? Because we know that in the story of the rich man and Lazarus, that Lazarus was said to be in Abraham's bosom, which i understand to be Paradise or a state of Paradise, not heaven, (if someone has clarity on this please help me out). So were there saints already there at the time Jesus had spoke this, them representing the mansions?

It is also imperative to understand that Jesus said that He was going away to PREPARE a place for His disciples. In other words, the dwelling places, or rooms, are there but Jesus had to die, be resurrected and ascended in order to prepare those places. Christ puts the emphasis on the preparation of the dwelling places so that they will be suitable for habitation.

So was he speaking futuristically? Or prophetically? Saying there WILL BE mansions in my fathers house? But he said and then sort of put a stamp on it by saying "if it WERE NOT SO I would have told you". It seems to me that going to prepare a place was preparing the room for the ones to come. So why did he refer to mansions already up there, come on now give me some clarity about it, cuz im not seeing it.... it's a cool topic but you gotta let me know what's really going on...

I'd encourage you to not get bogged down in the details to the point that the bigger picture can't be seen. If we view this discourse within the larger context, it all becomes clear. One thing we should also realize is that Jesus is speaking of spiritual realities (in the "eternal now") that have yet to be manifested in the physical realm.
Jesus says that in His Father's house are many mansions, or dwelling places. However, these "dwelling places" must be suitable for habitation, which is why Jesus must go to prepare that place. "When He ascended He led captivity captive and gave gifts unto men."
