Has anyone heard of this movie?
Are you planning on seeing the movie?
What are your thoughts about Jesus being portrayed as black?

ASWSOY, you are correct it does not matter.....
the movie is centered around the last 48 hours of Christ and how the Crucifixion was "actually" racially motivated.......

LOL! WOW! LOL! Right before I got on the computer this evening, I had just come across an old advertisement for that film, which I received some time ago. I've actually really been looking forward to seeing it since then. Is it playing in theaters now? I mean does it mather one way or the other? I believe it does. Absolutely!

why does he have to be black? Why does he have to be a lily white, blue eyed, blond haired European when we know he most certainly did NOT look that way? I'm not arguing that He was Black either, but He was most certainly a man of color. If it doesn't matter what color He was, as many say, then there shouldn't be such an uproar when a person of color portrays Him; if anything, that should be embraced, as He is the God of ALL flesh, and not just of the European. So yes, I certainly do believe that it does matter within a sociological context.

It absolutely does matter.. depending on what lies you have been told and how many of those lied you have believed.
How many african american people have been led into Islam because they were not told the truth about Jesus being a man of color ?? Imagine that truth being revealed to them... now they must question what other lies they have been told....

I honestly don't see where it matters, just my opinion (and I am entitled). For you guys it does matter and that's all good. My heart is for the people at large and to have them come to know Jesus (whether He is black, white, asian, etc.). Whether or not Jesus is black - I guess for some it would determine whether or not they will choose Him but if that is the case then ..................
I just get soooooo tired of the "black" posts. Yes I am black but ....... oh nevermind, it's not worth it.
(I will keep silent)

Its really not about that. However you have to also understand that a particular truth over the course of history has been PURPOSEFULLY altered, and that this deception has opened the door for other deceptionss. It very well may not matter to you whatsoever, and it doesnt matter in terms of salvation because we are not saved by the color of JESUS's skin, nor do black people get any extra credit because he is a man of color...
What amazes me is that I know people of other backgrounds that readily admit and acknowledge that Jesus is a man of color yet many times the people of color have more of an issue with this than other people do.
The reality is that it is a truth. And we should be for all truth not just the ones we are comfortable with.

In Isaiah 53:2b, “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.” This is the closet the scripture gets to discribing what jesus looked like... Jesus was a Jew, so He likely had very tan skin, dark eyes, and dark hair. This is a much different view from the blond-haired, blue-eyed, fair-skinned Jesus in most churches. In school we learned about a man from 100AD who went on record and basically said that Jesus was UGLY... and short.. could it be?? I dont know... But no matter how short, or how dark his skin was, or how blue we say his eyes was... it doesnt matter because.. HE(Jesus) was wounded for our transgressions..bruised for our iniquity, the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and WITH his stripes we are HEALED!!! Glory glory... I know it was the blood!!

And/but like bro kb, I'm not arguing that He was Black either, but He was most certainly a man of color... ...I certainly do believe that it does matter within a sociological context. On earth, Jesus was, after all, FULLY human, as well as fully God. I simply refuse to deny, disregard or minimize the significance of either/any part of His identity. Because God always has a purpose in everything He does, I believe it ALL matters... a lot.

Why is it when it is mentioned that Jesus is black people get in an uproar, but if he was Asian, Latin or Jewish NO ONE would be concerned.....
Are we subliminally perpetuating self hatred by not wanting to discus the "true" race of Jesus....

why does he have to be black?? Why can't he be black? Why can't he be portrayed as a man of color, because essentially he was! Why it that the Jesus we always see, is portrayed closer to a white man versus a black one? We all know the black people come in different hue's...yet and still the way Jesus is portrayed, he doesn't come close to any..Why is that? I always wonder why people make a big deal about this. I mean does it mather one way or the other? He would still be our Lord & Saviour right?? I think the reason why people make a big deal, is because Lies have been passed down through generations, and all people really want to know is the truth! I believe it does matter to a varying degree. Not the to the degree where folks can boast that Jesus was a man of color, but the very essence of Jesus being not what we have been led to believe, I think will set a whole lot of people free.
