My main problem with the criticizing as far as Black go is that we do it to EACH OTHER. But if a white person was doing the same thing or worse we'd have no comment. I think with criticizing, where blacks are concerned..Keita said it best. we are "pathologically prone" to hating on each other. However... black people criticize people in general.If a white person was making the movies that tyler perry is currently bringing out, (and yes there have been many white movie makers to touch issues that black families are all to familiar with) But, you definitely would hear, the comments about the white person stereotyping black people. |

I read where he said he's gonna keep doing Madea as long as we want him to.
He made a statement in his last email update. And that was that he "knows that this last movie wasn't for everyone" So I guess that's the bottom line. No matter who likes or dislikes, agrees or not. Tyler knows that everybody is not going to love or even like everthing he does and that's okay. He's eternally grateful for all of us, positive and negative because it takes all of it to make it. He's grateful for our support because as he acknowledges all the time in his newsletters, it is because of our support that he has the life he has now.
Don't get deep....I know, we know and yes he knows it's God, but if nobody bought a ticket....well...
The same with my book (s) and another other books, movies, plays that any of us do. Somebody gonna have something to say positive and negative. You expect that going in. So you just make sure you're doing what God has spoken to you to do and let Him handle the rest.
I personally don't have a problem with him putting on a dress and being Madea. He's not a cross dresser, he's playing a role. Everybody in the movie is playing a role. I have more of a problem with Christians using foul language and kissing people they're not married to than with him being in a dress. He's not a transvestite (sp?), a homosexual, or going through a sex change. He's not in a dress kissing men or women in the mouth. That's way less harmful than a lot of the other stuff Christians do in movies.

If that's truly what decides the matter for him, then folks expressing their thoughts about TP playing the character of "Madea, whether positive or negative, " is really important. LOL! You got that right! Sis vindicated, I actually responded to a lot of what you're saying in an earlier post ( page 2/#24) so I'll try to just sum it up in responding to this part of what you're saying. I personally don't have a problem with him putting on a dress and being Madea. Nevertheless, GOD has a "problem" with it, and clearly says so in Deuteronomy 22:5, where He calls doing so an "abomination". Now, I don't know whether Tyler Perry actually is or isn't a cross dresser, by whatever definition or by his personal lifestyle. But what I do know is that he cross dresses to play the role of "Madea". And as I said before: ...at least at this point, I'm not at all convinced that
whether cross-dressing is done in secret, onstage, in a movie, or "out" on a Friday night...
how entertaining, rich, successful, famous, etc. the person cross-dressing may be...
how many others are also, who else might be, and whatever the reason for cross-dressing ...
whatever race he/she is ...
the person being my very best friend or among my closest family...
he/she being loved by GOD and me as well...

Ahh.. Deut 22:5 the old cogic scripture that sent women to hell for wearing pants. Read the whole chapter and see what all else the rest of us are going to hell for doing.
You have to understand what was happening. Those people were making their children "pass through the fire" literally burning them alive in sacrifice in the worship of idols. They were wearing that which pertains to a man or woman and then having sexaul intercourse as a part of some sick rituals that they had learned from ungodly nations.

my "thoughts" about Tyler Perry and his movies have nothing to do with race - SOME people make it about race however my comments are because I am a movie buff - I love movies and therefore I give my opinion on almost everyone that I watch. It has nothing to do with black, white, male or female. I don't fall into the "hate" category.
Also, my reason for this thread was to address the comment made by kieta which has absolutely nothing to do with race at all but to discuss how it goes against scripture (which we are addressing now).

Sweet Dreams or Beautiful Nightmares
Good Day FB family...
I wanted to share something that has been on my heart today entitled;
SWEET DREAMS OR BEAUTIFUL NIGHTMARE..SCARY WONDERFUL.
For many who know me I am a very prophetic person. I am a believer and one that believes that God speaks various ways and its up to us as believers to hear and do what His voice is telling us. I have often had visions and dreams that would literally frighten me and others that would take my breath away with joy. Here lately I have been having a combination of both and i felt lead to share this one with my FB family for your thoughts, insights and most of all your prayers..
I have been told numerous of times I will be a voice to many entertainers, artists etc. and those words have come true on various occasions. Thank God. I have been also taught to tell a "dream as a dream" and to allow the spirit of God, the master of all dreams, the interpretation. So here's the dream I had last evening.
I was siting on the PC typing and I believe the spirit of God came upon me very heavy. THE SPIRIT OF EL SHUT EYE...lol This is not anything that i haven't experienced before so I knew it was dream or vision I was about to encounter. I went into my bed room and laid down..my roomies asked was i ok because i didn't look well i stated I'm fine is just needed to lay down.
When i closed my eyes i immediately started dreaming...this is the only part i believe God wants me to share...
I came into a theater it was alot of people in the theater..it was dark and the stage curtain was closed. People were talking laughing etc waiting for the show to start. I finally realized i was at a Tyler Perry play premier and i immediately got excited beings though i am a fan of his work. A few people near the area i was in (towards the door entrance way) were becoming a little rowdy and disrespectful to the other people in there area. All of a sudden Tyler Perry came out from behind the curtain with a base ball bat and a smirk on his face. Everyone was clapping and laughing thinking it was a part of his show. He headed towards the young men and as he came he face became more and more angered. He began swinging at the young men and as they ran one of the young men (darkskinned tan tshirt white sweat band and cornrows shoulder length) pulled out a gun and began shooting at Tyler Perry. The young man was shooting aimlessly to the point anyone in the theater could have got hit. Surprisingly Mr. Perry was the only person hit (struck in the chest in the area of his heart) Mr Perry was wearing black slacks and a white button down shirt and when the bullet struck him he fell to the ground and he began to bleed. everyone stood in shock no one screamed or ran. I also noticed no one including myself helped him. Mr Tyler Perry DIED....
this was the last of series of dreams i had on last evening. i slept for 10 hours straight..which i never do but i seemed like it was only like a 20min dream.

God spoke to me and said that the spirit of perversion used Tyler Perry to infiltrate the church. We now take joy in the things that God clearly want us doing. It has been said that T.P. is fazing the Madea character out now..hmmmm makes one wonder what next. I always questioned the motifies of that character. Y not just get a WOMAN to play the part? Was this someway a outlet for something that lied within him? Whatever the case we know that the enemy is cunning and we including myself have given our time and substance towards the fueling of this spirit of perversion. I know some may say that its only acting. hOWEVER any true actor will tell u in order to perform the best U MUST PUT YOUR HEART IN IT. I remember watching devils advocate with Al Pachino as HIS CHARACTER mocked God..I CLEARLY saw the demonic spirit using him..it was soooo evident and real. We must be careful who we lend our members to: eyes, ears, money etc for in do so we become servants of the thing we are suppose to resisting.

Fellowcitizen, I was never really comfortable with Madea... but I love TP movies.. as I was reading your post, I fell convicted... I love TP and I don't want anything to happen to him...
What is God telling us to do? Is there any instruction for us on how to pray? Did U sent a copy to Mr. TP... I notice he read and write on his FB... I notice he asked for prayer cuz he felt sick when he was in Canada last week...

The Holy Spirit says...in this up coming hour My spirit of conviction and repentance will fall upon My people. Those who have been deeply in sin with no remorse will begin to experience my convictions like never before. It is I who harden the hearts of men and its I who bring them alive again. Up until now the love of many of My people have waxed cold and My house has been become a HOUSE OF WAX because iniquity has abound. From my chambers I see Living wax statues but I send now My spirit NOW to melt the waxed hearts of My people and they will be loosed from their waxed graves. Once freed by the fiery passions of My love for them, their eyes will be opened by the light of My word calling for them and that same light will uncover their sins and they will REPENT by turning from their graves (sins) and leave there grave clothes (residue-evidence) behind. Upon their repentance i will pour out my spirit upon their flesh and My sons and daughter will begin to have dream after dream, vision after vision some with FEEL my voice, others will HEAR my voice, some will SEE my voice yes some will even TASTE my voice all will experience my glory and prophesy. I want to talk to my people I WILL DEDICATE ONE DAY EACH for them to spend with Me redeeming the time lost to their graves. Some I will take them into my chambers and show them my secrets and their destinies and some I will take into the darkness of HELL to show them the secrets of the adversary my people will believe, serve and fear me once again. The portion of the dream I allowed you to share was a test for the readers to see if they would take the time to seek Me on behalf of one of My sons. Due to the hardened hearts (wax build up) of My sons and daughters the fires of intercession have been blown out but I am here says God to rekindle those fires my sons and daughters once had to a greater more intense flame.
