1 Peter 3:18-20 "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water." Jesus preached, proclaimed, in hades.

Ephesians 4:8-10 "Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)" Jesus brought the saints from paradise to heaven. ;D

you are difficult bro! can't answer a simple question! Where is MissKay when you need her? LOL..PLEASE dont bring her into this! How am I difficult? you asked a tough question, I had to sit and think for a second...We all know he died in the flesh, but to be seperate from God is spiritual death.. "my god, my god, why has thou forsaken me" would suggest a spiritual seperation from God. Mind you Jesus has a duel nature.. human and divine... he suffered this things in the flesh so that we can be reconciled back to God.

yes, that was the answer (and scripture) I was looking for - just wanted to add some flava to this board! Many people don't want to acknowledge that part as it seem to take away from who Jesus IS (not was).
*MissKay stay in your corner*

I believe its psalms 22.

what would have been the point of "just quoting it though" (thinking out loud). In the bible, did Jesus ever quote things just for the sake of quoting or with every reference to the OT did He have a purpose for its use?

There is in another place where jesus said.."these things written are concerning me". while david probably felt forsaken and defeated... he cant say it like Jesus... who paid the ultimate sacrifice for us.

Did Jesus experience this? I think you need to define what Spiritual Death is first.
