I NEVER use the story of Ruth in reference to how to prepare. And I NEVER tell people that they should look for Boaz.......
One of the purposes for Ruth/Boaz was to find a kinsman redeemer since her husband had died. So if anything, she prepared for a kinsman redeemer which we find out was actually someone else that was "higher in the line" first who she would've been with had he not declined.

I NEVER use the story of Ruth as one for marriage period! One, because I don't want no OLD MAN, LOL ;D and two, because I don't want to take away from the fact that the story is a type and shadow - Jesus is our Kinsmen Redeemer. We get too carried away with the Boaz/Ruth thingy!

If the Lord chose someone for you then that person is truly for you. There is no (God) modeling show where he lines up a bunch of men then say to you choose one. He already has a line up of men and HE (God) Chooses the BEST ONE FOR YOU.
I don't even want to hear that God does not know who is BEST for us.
I think that we may choose the wrong person for us. But then God has a way of bringing us right back to where he has destined us to be. So it is us that makes the wrong choices not God.
I personally could not serve a God of mistakes. jmo

True, I most definitely agree with you! But if you ask the men around including some on this BB they will tell you that God is making "presentations" so they can pick and choose. But like I said before... What would God's purpose be in presenting someone to you so that you can reject them?
What would be the point of that? Would God love and care about the other person enough not to put them through that?
Plus if God knows who you will really choose why not just simply present that person only? After all that's what God did with Adam and Eve...

Kitty Kitty, I don't believe God plays with our (women) emotions like that..... and I truly don't believe that we are paraded in front of men as cattle up for auction....... Rejection is really serious and it hurts to be turned down over and over again in hopes of this one being the right relationship. In the story of Adam and Eve God presented her to Adam only once and when Adam saw her he knew that she was the one.... The one thing about Adam in the text is that Adam didn't realize he was alone and needed a mate it was God who created Eve while Adam was asleep..... Now as single women I encourage you to pray that the Lord will wake up your Adam and that when he sees you his language will reflect what Adam said when he saw Eve. Be blessed

I do recall Beck making a rather interesting post on which he mentions that God "presented" Eve to adam in a way which would suggest that Adam had a choice...
Beck correct me if I am wrong or took your post out of context...

i believe he meant, that God presentd Eve to Adam in saying..this IS your wife..no choice about it, because adam did not ask for one.
